Mangaluru: Educational Resources Centers Association held a protest march from Mini Vidhan Soudha to DC Office on Monday. They demanded the re-evaluation of the circular that is sent by the government of Karnataka, regarding the transfer of additional teachers from the government schools.
Addressing the gathering Advocate, Dinesh Hegde Ulepady said that the CM has said that the government schools will not be shutdown at any cost. But the circular passed by the educational department is forcing the schools to shutdown.
“Even though the number of students less in the schools one teacher cannot teach, 21 subjects to all the classes. Educational department is misleading the people by saying that the transfer is taking place due to RTE Act. In RTE Act it is mentioned that there must be minimum two teachers for one to sixty students,” he said.
He further said that why students should suffer due to governmental policies? No politician sends his children to the government school. Te government is depriving students from getting education.
“The association urges the CM to hold the transfer process immediately. So, the government schools will survive and more students will be facilitated by quality education,” he added.
Harikrishna Punaruru, Nithin Kuttar SFI, Renni D Souza CACL, Rehman Khan old Students Union, Sridhar Rao Belthangady SDMC, Kolladi Balakrish Rai, Humanrights of India and others were present.
