Mangalore: Kannada Development Authority, Bangalore in association with Dakshina Kannada District Administration will organize a ‘Kannada Nudi-teru Jaagriti Jaatha’ to create awareness about Kannada language October 12 to October 14, said Mukhyamantri Chandru, president, Kannada Development Authority (KDA).
Speaking at the press meet held at Press club on October 11, Tuesday, he said that Jaatha will be held in all Taluks of Dakshina Kannada district and chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda will inaugurate it at Sullia on October 12, Wednesday and it will further move to all parts of the district.
He said that large numbers of people come to our state for employment; hence this jatha aims to create awareness among them and encourage them to learn Kannada.
He said that four universities in Europe have the Kannada chair in their respective Ideology departments.
