Mangalore : Sahyadri Engineering College at Adyar in Mangalore, will be the venue of a three-day state level techno-fest named Srishti -2012 from May 12 to 14. Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda, will inaugurate the fest.
Organized by the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Srishti is an annual project exhibition cum competition event to motivate and direct the budding engineers into a focused path and to provide an ideal platform for them to manifest their ideas and put them forth into equitable action. About 2000 students from over 75 engineering colleges from Karnataka will participate in this fest. Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, E.S.Chakravarthy, Center Head, TCS Bangalore, N.Ravikumar, Zonal Organizing Secretary, ABVP, Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandari Foundation and others will be the chief guests at the inaugural function.
Another objective of the fest is to promote industrial institutional interaction. There will be a technical paper presentation and Idea Impact contest on May 13. There will also be a special lecture on Understanding India’ by renowned scientist Shraddalu Ranade on May 13. A seminar on “When Medicine Met Engineering- Opportunities & Scope in India & the developing World’ will be held on May 14.
The exhibition will be open for public from 10 am onwards on May 13.Anand Asnotikar, State Minister for Science & Technology, Siddaiah, Principal Secretary for Higher education and Suhad Gopinath, youngest CEO in the world and presently Chairman, Globals Inc will be the chief guests at the valedictory function to be held on May 14. Dr Raghu Akmanchi, ABVP’s National Vice President, will deliver the key-note address. Prizes will be awarded to winners in various categories on the occasion.
