Bangalore: CM Yeddyurappa changed his mind on Indian cricketers on Thursday (today) and announced that he bowed to popular pressure and withdrawn the earlier gift of plots (50×80 feet each) from BDA (which he cannot legally give) and instead he would give Rs.25 lakhs each to the 15 winning Team India cricketers.
Coach Gary Kirsten has taken farewell to return home in South Africa. The Sri Lankan captain and deputy both have resigned. But CM Yeddyurappa has stayed on despite allegations of corruption against him and decided to make cash gifts to Indians who do not belong to his state of Karnataka. There are grumblers in city who have not received their gifts as promised by him in 2009-10. Popular opinion is against CM distributing lands as gifts.
CM on Wednesday journeyed to Melukote to worship at the shrine of Yoga Narasimah Swamy to strengthen his present position, against opposition leaders and their relentless propaganda on his illegal acts.
