A fishing vessel Al - Azmath caught in a storm on the boisterous sea

14.06.10 Mangalore : A rescue act was conducted by the Coastal Guards and Fisheries department on Sunday to save a fishing vessel Al – Azmath caught in a storm on the boisterous sea waves in Ullal. The Vessel had sent a distress call to CG (K), who kept a night long vigil over the harrowed fishermen before rescuing them out of fierce storm condition.  5 – foot high waves prevented local fishermen from going near the fish boat. Only on Sunday morning, the coast Guard patrol vessel ‘Annie Besant’ approached the boat in distress and helped 3 fishermen (crew) to the NM Port. The owner of the boat Al – Azmath, was in Dubai. The CG vessel has earlier saved 12 fishermen near Suratkal, in similar conditions.
