Mangaluru : Temples in the coastal districts will be change the rituals in the wake of lunar eclipse on August 7, 2017. As per the Vedic calendar, lunar eclipse will start at 10.55 PM on Monday and conclude at 01.55 AM midnight. People have asked to take their supper by 07.30 PM as food and drinks restricted after 07.30 AM, as per Vedic traditions.
Routine rituals at Kukke Subramanya temple will be held as usual during daytime on August 7. However, night pooja rituals will be held at 06.00 PM. The temple will remain closed after 06.30 PM and no meals served at night.
Udupi Sri Krishna Math authorities said afternoon lunch will conclude by 01.30 PM and no meals will be served in the temple at night on Monday.
Late evening pooja rituals at Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple will be held at 03.00 PM afternoon. No meals will be served at night and Abhishekam has been arranged for the deity of the temple during lunar eclipse.
Meanwhile, at Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala no major changes made in the routine rituals of the temple. However, the temple will be closed after 08.00 PM and no visitors allowed.
Other major Hindu temples in the Udupi and Dakshiana Kannada district also to be held at the change in time.
