Mangaluru :  A student of Dr. Lydya colaco nursing college in Kankanady who attempted to end her life, died at a private hospital on Wednesday October 6.

The deceased has been identified as Nina (19) D/o Sateesh T J resident of  Thoombungal,  Arimba, Cchittarikkai, Kadumeni, Kasaragodu in Kerala.

She was pursing her first year BSc nursing and was the student of the 2020-21 batch.

It is suspected that the college was harassing her due to pay college fees. The deceased has left behind a death note. It is said she was unable to pay the college fees and was depressed over the same.

Nina had attempted to hang herself in the college hostel’s bathroom at Kadri on Tuesday October 5. She passed away at a private hospital here on Wednesday without responding to the treatment.

A case is registered at Kadri police station.
