Mangalore : State Minister of Higher Education, Aravind Limbavali assured the college lecturers to implement the revised UGC pay scales.
Speaking after receiving the felicitation conducted by Association of Mangalore University College Teachers (AMUCT) during the conference on Higher Education and Annual General Body Meeting held at Roshni Nilaya on August 1, Sunday, he said that henceforth, the educational qualifications would be depend on regulations framed by the UGC.
The lecturers must keep forward the demands through the association rather than entering the Vidhan Saudha alone. He urged the lecturers to provide him the opportunity to work for the demand, rather than holding protest in streets to force the government.
The college teachers must come forward to serve in the rural areas without any hesitation. But most of the teachers prefer to work in cities during their transfer and reject opting for rural areas.
Dr A M Narahari, Member of Higher Education Council said that he has earlier listed out the problems of teachers faced direct and indirect way.
Prof T C Shivashankar Murthy, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University presided over the programme.
Prof C H Murigendrappa, President of FUCTAK, Prof T M Manjunath General Secretary of FUCTAK and Dr Jacinta D’Souza, Principal, Roshni Nilaya were guests of honour.
