Mangalore : This year even government school students have a chance to don colourful uniforms. For the first time, the Union government has provided uniforms to primary school students under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. There is an option of choosing between four colours and the choice is that of the respective DDPIs. As far as state government provided uniform goes, the colours are the same, white and blue.
Narasimharaju, State Co-ordinator of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan says the suggestion is that the uniforms provided under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan can be worn on Wednesdays and Saturdays while the state government provided uniforms should be worn on Monday, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays.
The children have the joy of wearing colourful uniforms this time and t eh headmasters of the respective schools have been asked to clearly tell the students on the uniforms that should be worn on particular days.
The District authorities have chosen cream colour shirt and maroon colour trousers or skirts for boys and girls respectively. The quality of the uniform materials is good, says DDPI Moses Jayashekhar.
