Subrahamanya : If the government has announced suspension of combing operations from September 17 to 23, with an intention of giving opportunity for the Naxals to surrender so that they can be brought to the mainstream, there is a strong suspicion if at all anyone would surrender or whether the Naxals would take this opportunity to flee the place.
The ANF is very well aware of the hideout area of the Naxals. and the recent combing operations has practically given no room for the Naxals to escape. Meanwhile, there are also reports that the Naxals are facing injury problems. Police strongly feel at least one Naxal might have sustained serious injuries in the exchange of fire at Baginamale forest area near Subrahamanya resulting in the death of one Naxal. The Naxals are also said to be facing food problems as they cannot escape the eyes of the ANF ever since they entered Baginamale forests. Though there were reports of Naxals visiting a house near Kaginera Sinkeri of Sakleshpur taluk for food, the intensive combing operations since then has made it difficult for them to search for food.
The combing operations has been suspended upto September 23 and the ANF hopes some Naxals would surrender at least by then. He has also said that the combing operations will continue from September 23 if Naxals fail to surrender by then.
