Udupi : The district level Teachers Day celebrations was held here on September 5 under the auspices of Teachers Day Celebration Committee and Dr G Shanker Family Trust.

Vinaykumar Sorake, Udupi District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Urban Development was the chief guest and inaugurated the programme. He urged teachers to render selfless service. He said it was due to the committed service of  teachers that Udupi district has progressed academically. The key note address was delivered by  Prof. ML Samaga, former principal. Felicitations were conferred on best teachers of the district as well as retired teachers.

Among others present were   Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj, Dr G Shanker, Upendra Nayak, Zilla Panchayat President, Mamatha R Shetty, ZP Vice President,   Gowry V Poojari, TP President and Prabhaker Sharma Zilla Panchayat CEO.
