Bangalore: Justice H. Billappa has given for men Muzrai minister CH Krishnaiah Setty a conditional bail in anticipation, providing the accused a temporary relief on Thursday, in the state High court of single justice bench.
The bail relates to second private complaint, relating to Government land denotification, involving nepotism and corruption, against which lawyer Sirajin Basha had filed a 2nd complaint.
All witnesses are recorded as documentary evidence, as such destruction of such written evidence is not possible, opined the single judge court, and asked the accused to furnish two bonds of 2 lakh rupees each, two sureties of like amounts, and on condition that he cannot travel abroad without court permission, the bail (anticipatory) had been provided, the court said.
It restrained Krishnaiah against destroying any relevant documents and told him not to misbehave.
It may be recalled that former CM Yeddyurappa and his ardent follower, Krishnaiah were in Judicial custody not long ago. The Lokayukta court had rejected bail pleas of both accused. The KHC lone judge B.V. Pinto had granted conditional bail on 1st complaint of S.Basha. Krishnaiah sought anticipatory bail on 2nd complaint, as he feared rejection of bail in LA court. He got what he asked for.
