Mangaluru : The alleged threat calls from the underworld to B. Ramanath Rai and K. Abhayachandra Jain, Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader has said that the underworld operative concerned should have called the leaders of the organisation to which the accused in the Bajrang Dal activist Prashant Poojary murder case belong.

“Neither the Congress government nor the Ministers can be blamed for the murder,” Mr. Khader told presspersons here on Wednesday.

“We (Ministers) have stayed clear off incidents involving religious fundamentalist groups,” he said. “Why not these underworld operatives call and threaten the leaders of the organisation to which the accused in the murder of Prashant Poojary belong. Why the Congress government is being blamed,” he asked.

Without naming the organisation, Mr. Khader said, “This organisation has an understanding with the BJP and has contested against me, Mr. Jain and Mr. Rai during Assembly polls. It questions us during meetings but it has political understanding with the BJP.”

The police have arrested 10 persons in connection with the murder of Prashant Poojary.
