Bangalore: It was left to Congress Party, which had collaborated with JD-S in 2005 (under N.Dharam Singh as CM), to criticize vehemently the same JD-S, for not voting during Dec 22 Legislative Assembly to Council by-polls.
Dr. G. Parameshwara, the KPCC President, has condemned JD-S for its abstention and asked the million-dollar question, whether Janata Dal – Secular was really a secular Party.
Dr. GP’s fears were that JD-S being a Gowda party, wanted to help DVS Gowda, to become MLC.
Parameshwara was enraged about JD-S professing “secularism”, but practicing casteism of Gowdas, without any commitment to its root ideals in reality.
The secular policy of JD-S stands exposed today, by its political stand in the council by-poll, Dr. GP observed.
He was hopeful that if only opposition parties the idea altogether.
He admitted that congress downfall was expected in by-poll. Even 5 independents went across to BJP. However, Congress as a national party had done its job in a democracy.
But there are genuine doubts over JD-S, being actually secular, Dr. GP taunted H.D. Kumaraswamy.
