Puttur : Advocate and notary Fazal Raheem has been chosen as the new president of Puttur block Congress committee on October 29, Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Puttur MLA Shakunthala Shetty said that KPCC president G Parameshwar nominated Fazal Raheem as the new president of the block committee and directed him to take charge of the president post immediately.

She also said that Raheem would work with fairness towards all party members.

After taking the charge, new president Raheem said that he is not new to the congress party since his father K P Abdullah had served the party as the block Congress president for 27 years.

Apart from it, he has been affiliated with the Congress since his college days and served as the treasurer of the NSUI college unit, vice president of youth Congress and also an election agent during the time of elections. Further too he will work for the party with co-ordination and consolidation with other leaders and members, he said.

Vittal-Uppinangady block committee president Praveenchandra Alva and other leaders were present.
