Mysuru : Former minister and Congress MLA Tanveer Sait was attacked with a sharp object by a 24-year-old man in Mysuru on Sunday, November 17.
As per the sources a man identified as Farhaan attacked the Congress MLA, however, the motive for the same is yet to be ascertained.
Farhaan was immediately arrested after the attack as he sought to escape. He was caught and beaten up by supporters of Sait, before being handed over to police.
Sait sustained injuries on his neck after the attacker, Faraan, slashed him with a dagger. Sait was rushed to Columbia Asia Hospital in Mysuru. His condition was reported to be stable after surgery.
Farhaan is identified as an activist of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), a Muslim political outfit. Pasha was a resident of Ghousia Nagar, which falls under Sait’s constituency.
