Mangalore : Former Union Minister B Janardhan Poojary said that Congress has won in majority in ULB election and hence thank the public and congress workers for their support for giving an opportunity for Congress to rule in city.
Speaking at the press meet held at Congress election publicity office at Nanthoor on Mar 11, Monday. He said that this election people of Mangalore have opposed corruption and discrimination of BJP and supported us.
Poojary said that Congress had done good work in City corporation level five years back and after BJP came into power and gave many assurance and not fulfilled it yet. Further this will be fulfilled by Congress, he said.
Poojary stated that Congress has succeeded in getting majority in allplaces except Sullia, but there is satisfaction of gaining success but have no ego.
Congress leaders have promised people to work for the development during this election campaign and now it our responsibility to fulfill
it.
In Karnataka congress has topped in this election and the result was possible only because of the hardwork of party workers and leaders.Criticizing BJP, he said that in the BJP MLA’s constituency out of 38 ward, congress has gained victory in 28 ward and only 10 seats were taken over by BJP. Whereas in Suratkal ward, BJP has succeeded in 10 wards but congress has gained 12 seats.
Further all congress corporators will be called for the meeting and given responsibility to interact with the people and listen to their problem.
He said that in next 5 year’s term, Congress in MCC will not increase the Self Assessment Tax Scheme (SAS) and water tax, but the present tax rate will continue, he said.
DKCC president Ramanath Rai, MLA UT Khader, Harikrishna Bantwal, P V Mohan, Sadashiv Ullal, Suresh Ballal and others were present.
