Udupi: Pramod Madhwaraj, President of the Udupi Block Congress has demanded a CBI investigation in the recent kidnap and murder of Congress leader and RTI activist Vandaru Vasudeva Adiga.
Speaking at a party workers convention at Udupi on January 13, he said there was a suspicion at the BJP as Adiga was trying to unravel several misdeeds through RTI queries.
He said Adiga had submitted RTI query on Nirmiti Kendra done projects and also regarding several temples coming under the Endowment department.
He said much of the funds being utilized by the state government for development works were sanctioned by the Centre., He said though the Udupi MLA states that Rs 450 crore has been released for progress works in the district, it cannot be forgotten that the same was sanctioned from the Rs 80,000 crore grants provided by the Centre.
Several party leaders including Vinaykumar Sorake, former MP took part in the meeting. Several people joined the Congress fold on the occasion.
