Mangalore: Mangalore witnessed protests and road blockades with the opposition Congress party seeking dismissal of B.S. Yeddyurappa-led government at KPT Junction on May 17, Tuesday.
Addressing the protestors Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai, said that the Governors move to dissolve the state government must be appreciated. This is only the way to stop the corruption taking place in the state.
He also demanded that the corrupt BJP government be dismissed and the Centre accepts the Governor’s report in this regard.
The issues regarding the corruption made by the CM B S Yeddyurappa must be handed over to CBI probe.
MLA UT Khader said that the Governors recommendations must be considered and the state must get the presidential rule for the welfare of the state.
Congress activists burnt effigies of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, urging the Supreme Court to consider the recommendation to the Centre and bring the state under President’s rule.
The leaders shouted slogans and demanded dismissal of the illegal and unconstitutional BJP government. Later they also organized the jail bharo as a part of protest.
In spite of not receiving the permission to burst the crackers on the road, the congress activists had burst the crackers.
Congress activists like Dennis D’Silva, KPCC general secretary Ivan D’Souza, Suresh Ballal, Shashidhar Hegde, Naveen D’Souza and others were present.
