Mangaluru: District BJP committee on Monday staged a protests before deputy commissioner’s office against corruption scandals of ministers of Karnataka state government and urging them to resign from their respective posts immediately.
Addressing the protestors Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that it is known fact that Karnataka congress party unit has made an unaccounted contribution of Rs 1000 crore to the congress high command. This has been mentioned in a diary which found at the residence of congress MLC Govindaraju during an IT raid. Also, unaccounted money worth Rs 162 crore was also found in an IT raid at the residence of Karnataka state minister Ramesh Jarkiholi. In addition to the two cases, Rs 130 crore unaccounted property has also been found at the residence of Karnataka state member of legislative assembly MTB Nagaraj’s residence very recently in an IT raid, he alleged.
The Congress-led government in the state is now extinct, the evidence is coming out of the senior leaders of the party. It does not stop there, more than fifteen leaders of the Congress party will pass out soon, he said.
Blaming the chief minister on the alleged corruption scandals, BJP added that the chief minister hasn’t responded properly to all the corruption allegations. Also, according to the diary found at the residence of MLC Govindaraju, Congress party has received Rs 65 crore in the form of bribe in steel over bridge project, he said.
Speaking on the CD released by the congress party members last week showing private conversation between Union Minister Anantha Kumar and BS Yeddyurappa stating that BJP was also bribed crores of rupees to its high command as like what congress party did by contributing Rs 1000 crore unaccounted money to the party high command. The BJP leaders said that the conversations in the CD have been modified and an investigation is essential to prove that the CD is fake, he said.
He also urges the state government to stop Yettinahole project as it hurts the ecological balance of Western Ghats seriously.
Former MLA Yogish Bhat, Anwar Manipaddy, District committee president Sanjeeva Matandoor, MLC Monappa Bhanday, BJP Mahila morcha president Sulochan Bhat, Jayaram Shetty and others were present.
