Udupi : BJP National Vice President and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has said that the diminishing status of Congress party across the country shows that days are not far to comprehend the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for the nation without Congress.
Speaking to media persons of the birthday celebrations of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee organised by the district BJP unit, the Shimoga MP said that Congress has lost its relevance in all states except Karnataka. BJP is all set to conceptualise plans to root out Congress from Karnataka. An executive committee meet of the party would be organised in Bangaluru shortly. The party president Amit Shah would come to Bengaluru on January 3 to work out over the meeting and the agenda of the meeting, he said.
Yeddyurappa said the people in State are aspiring for change to get rid of Congress government. In this backdrop, the Congress might have few days to count on, as election may be expected any time from now. Meanwhile, he said that there is insecurity to mutts and mandirs under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s government. People are revolting against the government, he said.
On re-conversion issue, he said that India is a democratic country and each one has the right to follow the religion of his or her choice. The Prime Minister has spoken over the conversion and re-conversion in Lok Sabha. The party is working within the framework of Constitutional statutes. In Lok Sabha, 19 Bills have been passed within few days. However, in Rajya Sabha, only one Bill was passed because of the adamant approach of the Congress.
He alleged that the State government is deliberately cooking up issues by stating that the recommendations for Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act was made by BJP’s Rajya Sabha member M Rama Jois in 2007, which is baseless.
