Mangaluru: “To mark the 100th birth anniversary of former prime Minister late Indira Gandhi, a massive Congress party workers’ convention will be held on November 19 at Nehru Maidan in the city,” said KPCC President and Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar.
Speaking to the reporters on Monday at Circuit House, he said that top national leaders of Congress will be taking part in the convention. Leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Digvijay Singh, Oscar Fernandes, Shantharam Naik and state leaders Dharam Singh, CM Siddaramaiah along with his cabinet minister will take part in the convention.
“Party workers from DK, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Kodagu and Chikamagaluru districts will be gathered for the convention. Along with the convention workshops, debates and other activities will be held in various schools and colleges to spread awareness about late Indira Gandhi,” he said.
He further commenting on Shobha Karandlaje’s allegations on Roshan Baig regarding involvement of him in RSS activist Rudresh’s murder he said that she should hand over all the proofs to the police department to prove the involvement of Roshan Baig in the case.
“A murder is a murder and we can’t say that murdered person belongs to Congress or BJP or RSS. Whoever may be the culprit stern action will be taken against them,” he added.
Further he said that if the law and order disturbed during Tippu Jayanti then strict action will be taken against such people.
