Mangalore : Rich tributes were paid to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India on the occasion of his 48th death anniversary at the District Congress Office in Mangalore on May 27, Sunday.
Presiding over the function, Ibrahim Kodijal, Senior Vice President of DCC, recalled the contributions of Pandit Nehru towards the nation’s progress and described him as the harbinger of peace.
K Suresh Ballal, KPCC Member and Ivan D’Souza, KPCC Secretary, also spoke on the occasion.
Former mayors M Shashidhar Hegde, K Ashraf, Congress leaders Padmanabha Amin, Sudhir Kadekar, Bharathesh Amin, KM Sharief , Sadashiva Ullal, District Congress General Secretary, Farooq Ullal and others were present on the occasion.
