Mangaluru : The District Congress Committee staged a protest near the Mangaluru International Airport on November 9, Monday to condemn the handing over of the airport to the Adani Group.

Speaking on the occasion, former minister Ramanatha Rai said that,  the central government has given Adani company to manage the airport for 50 years. the handing over the airport which had witnessed significant strides in development, The BJP has failed to fulfill the promises made to the electorate, the BJP as Bharatiya Jhoot Party, he said.

Former MLC Ivan D’Souza who also spoke, questioned the need for the handing over of the Airport to the Adani Group.

District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai also criticised the move of the BJP government and alleged that the BJP government was privatising several institutions which are the contribution of Congress Government.

District Mahila Congress President Shalet Pinto, former MLAs Abhayachandra Jain, Moidin Bava, J R Lobo and others participated in the protest.
