Mangalore: MLA Ramanath Rai said that the Congress will conduct awareness programs in every taluk of DK on the Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill. He was addressing reporters on Dec 5, Monday.

Stating that communal forces are creating confusion among the public regarding this bill, he said that creating awareness is necessary. He said that these communal forces have even threatened bloodshed if the bill is passed.

Quoting Jawaharlal Nehru, he said that a minority community getting communal is a threat only to that community, but the majority community getting communal is a threat to the entire nation. He accused the Sangh Parivar of stirring up communal unrest to hide the truth about this law.

Congress leaders Mithun Rai, Ashraf, and Ivan D’Souza were also present.
