Mangaluru: Congress party will hold protests and demonstrations before RTO office in the city on February 03 objecting Motor Act introduced by the union government and hike in petrol and diesel prices in the country.
Speaking in a press met in the city on Wednesday, congress leader Ibrahim Kodijal has said that, “the motor act introduce by the union government as per the recommendations from KCCI and ACCI will harm the interest of the poor in the country. Protests will be conducted at five taluks in the district tomorrow against the act and hike in fuel prices.”
“The protests in Mangaluru will be held before the RTO office. Protests are scheduled to be held before Sullia taluk office, Puttur RTO office, Bantwal taluk office, Belthangady taluk office and in Moodbidri,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is putting pressure on the common man by raising prices of petrol and diesel prices in the country even if, crude oil prices in the global market showing a downward trend. New Motor Act will result in loss of income of the drivers, he alleged.
