Mangalore: A Yuvajana Bhavaikya Samavesh will be organised at Milagres Hall in Mangalore on January 12 under the auspices of the District Congress Committee in connection with the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.
Speaking to reporters here on January 10, Thursday, DK District Congress President B Ramanatha Rai said the programme will be inaugurated by Rajya Sabha Member Oscar Fernandes. A Bhavaikya Jatha to be organized in the morning will be flagged off by senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari. Rai said thousands of youth will take part in the convention and jatha.
He said the programmes aimed at spreading the message and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. A seminar that will be held as part of the convention will be participated by Ijazuddin, noted scholar and former MLC and Prof, Nityananda Shetty, associate professor of Tumkur University.
Students of various schools and colleges will present cultural programmes, he said.
Several Congress leaders including PV Mohan Mamatha Gatti, TK Sudhir, GA Bava, JR Lobo were present.
