Bangalore: Senior KPCC leader and former minister DK Shivakumar has said that the Congress would never try to reap political advantage out of the present political crisis in the state.
Speaking to reporters here, he said had the Congress wished, it could have brought the BJP government long back, but it would never do so, he said and added the BJP should save its face by dissolving the assembly and facing fresh elections.
He also said that the Congress was ready to face elections in case mid-term polls were announced. He said no one else but the BJP was to be blamed for the present crisis and added Yeddyurappa himself has played the role of an opposition party in the state.
At the same time Shivakumar while expressing his pleasure over the decision of the JD(S) and BSR Congress to back Pranab in the Presidential election, also was all praise for Sriramulu and said he had a concern for the backward classes.
