Thokkottu : Rajiv Satav, the president of IYC, said that only Indian youths can bring about change by participating in politics. He also urged the youths to join the Youth Congress, which is devoted for the people of all castes, creeds, communities, and religions.
Speaking at the Youth Awareness Convention organized by Indian Youth Congress (IYC) on Thokkottu Grounds on Feb 2, Wednesday, Mr Satav grabbed an opportunity to flay the BJP-led state government.
He also said that, the BJP-led state government, which had received the number one position for the development in the field of science and technology, has now even received the same position in corruption.
Speaking on the occasion, Jithendra Singh, the secretary of AICC and in-charge of IYC, said that if honest young people join politics, then no one can stop them from checking the corruption activities taking place.
He also said that everybody desires change, adding that change is only possible if honest youths join politics and change the spirit of democracy.
Pradesh Youth Congress president Baire Gowda, urged party activists to attract more number of youths towards the party during its membership drive, which will be launched in Karnataka in the coming days.
B. Janardhan Poojary, the president of DKCC; B. Ramanath Rai; and MLA U. T. Khader, and many other Congress leaders participated in the convention.
Prior to the convention, the activists held a motor vehicle rally from Mangalore to Thokkottu Ground.
