Udupi: There was a time when Dr. V.S Acharya’s resignation was demanded by opposition parties (congress, JD-s, CPI-M and others) repeatedly as Home minister, as Muzrai minister, or as Education minister for one reason or other. recently it was for making Zouk Island Festival a porn show by hippy foreigners in naked postures.

Dr. Acharya protected Udupi MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat in this case, as he did in a murder case of Bhat’s wife. Dr. V.S.A protected his son Kiran in a scandal in between.

Today the congressmen are coming round to pay rich tributes to the same clean person whom they had identified as a culprit earlier.

On Thursday at Udupi, Dr. Acharya’s home town and field of activities the congress leaders held a condolence meeting for the departed enemy in politics. Oscar Fernandes and Gafoor praised him as a national leader, a potential CM, and a gem of a person, in spile of differences.
