Mangaluru: “Construct check dams in many places and implement ‘Paschima Vahini’ project as a solution for water scarcity. So that the ground water level also gets increased,” said district in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai.
He was speaking in a meeting held at DC office on Tuesday. “25-30 check dams should be constructed to all the rivers including Netravati and measures should be taken to increase the ground water level,” he said.
“DPR for Ambedkar Bhavan which is to be constructed at Urwa Store in a land of 1.61 acres and which will cost Rs 12 crore, has been prepared. Rs 4.90 crore has been credited to the department account,” informed social development department district officer Dr. Santosh Kumar.
Replying to this Minister said that the approval for the land was delayed due to several reasons. Now the cabinet has approved the project and the work should be commenced as soon as possible.
Deputy Commissioner K G Jagadeesh ordered the tourism department officials to start the developmental works of beach within a month.
