Bantwal: “Demanding minimum wage and other facilities for contract based BSNL employees who are working since past two decades, BSNL non-permanent workers federation DK district committee will be holding indefinite strike from January 12,” said federation President Mohammad Haneef.
Addressing the press personnel at BC Road Press Club on Monday, he said that strike will be held in front of Mangaluru central labour commissioner’s office. All the BSNL employees who are working on contract basis will be joining for the strike.
“A memorandum will be submitted to BSNL general manager and deputy commissioner before starting the strike. After that in a procession protestors will reach labour commissioner’s office. We are not responsible for any inconvenience for the customers of BSNL during the strike period,” he said.
He further said that from June 2016 to August 2016 the employees were paid Rs 10,008 including PF and ESI, but after that the pay was reduced to Rs 6,396 including PF and ESI.
“Deduction of pay is a anti-labour policy of BSNL. We demand all the other facilities with minimum wage,” he added.
Federation office bearers Sunil Kumar, Chandrahasa, Rajesh and others were present.
