Mangalore : Late KK Pai, noted banker and founder chairman of Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation, was remembered at a function held at World Konkani Centre here on February 28, Thursday. A bust sized statue of KK Pai was unveiled on the occasion by Dr P Dayananda Pai, Chairman of the Foundation and eminent builder.
Speaking on the occasion, he said late KK Pai was a towering personality who has contributed immensely to Konkani community. His works will continue to serve as an inspiration to every Konkani speaking man, he added.
Sandhya S Pai, Managing Editor of Taranga also spoke about late KK Pai and recollected his achievements. T Sathish U Pai, Managing Trustee of K K Pai Trust, Manipal, Basti Vaman Shenoy, President of the Foundation, Pradeep Pai, Venkatesh Baliga and others were present.
Kishan Gangolli, an outstanding chess talent from Gangolli who will be taking part in the World Chess Championship to be held at Spain this June was honoured and gifted a cash of Rs 75,000 on this occasion.
