Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada district reported 162 new corona cases and five deaths today. Udupi reported the highest single-day spike with 281 people from the district tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, July 22.
Among the 162 who tested positive in DK, 70 have ILI symptoms, 18 have SARI symptoms, one has international travel history, 13 are primary contacts and contacts of 60 are being traced. As many as 69 patients were discharged from Hospital today.
Amongst the five deceased were, three women agred 60, 66 and 75, a 70-year-old female from Puttur and a 54-year-old man from Davanagere.
With this total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 3,996. As many as 1,744 persons have been discharged and 92 deaths have occurred including five deaths today.
Udupi district : Among the 281 cases in Udupi, 161 men, 100 women and 10 children. With this Udupi has a total of 2,686 cases with 899 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 1,776 patients recovered and discharged including 34 discharges today. The district has reported eleven COVID-19 fatality.
Kasaragod district reported 101 cases for the first time and 89 of them infected from primary contacts.
