Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada district recorded 139 cases and eight deaths on Friday July 10.

The death victims are a 58 year old woman from Thokkottu,  65 year old man from Dammit, 67 year old man from Ullala, 35 year old from Falnir and 35 year old man from Hosabettu. Three others succumbs to the infection at private hospitals in the city.

As per the health bulletin of the 139 who tested positive on Friday, 83 are males and 56 females including 10 children. Five have returned abroad, one from another district, 60 are diagnosed with influenza-like illness (ILI), nine are diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and contact tracing process of 64 patients is on.

As many as 51 patients were discharged from Wenlock and other private hospitals on Friday.

Udupi district recorded 34 corona cases on Friday, Out of  34 new cases, 10 are diagnosed with influenza-like illness (ILI), three have travelled from abroad, four have come from other districts, and contact tracing of 17 is under process.

As many as 1,089 people, including 25 on Friday, have been discharged from isolation wards so far.

Kasaragod district 17 positive cases were detected on Friday, of which 11 have been infected by primary contact.
