Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada district reported 248 new coronavirus cases and one death and Udupi recorded 106 new cases and one death on Friday, Aug 27.

A total of 15,09,045 samples have been tested so far, out of which 13,99,845 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,09,200 out of which 2,675 are currently active.

As many as 283 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday. The district recorded one death due to coronavirus on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,559.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,04,48,320 as fine in 85,936 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi district recorded 106 new cases and one death on Friday, Aug 27.

As many as 9,31,317 samples have been tested so far,  the total number of cases to 73,404 out of which 1,503 are currently active.

A total of 187 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.

Udupi reported 52 new cases, Kundapur registered 31 and Karkala 22 and one case was from out of district.

Coronavirus has claimed 448 lives in the district so far, including one on Friday.
