Mysuru : Speaking to media, Kumaraswamy said, “The electoral college that comprises educated voters are sure to support the JD(S), that always stood for pro-development. Barring the then primary and secondary education minister H J Govindegowda who had taken measures to recruit one lakh teachers, it was JD(S) government (in alliance with BJP) that came later under my leadership that took bold step of recruiting over 50,000 high school teachers and lecturers.”
Moreover, no governments in the past either Congress or BJP took measures to create employment opportunities for graduates, added Kumaraswamy claiming that his party’s prospects were bright in the coming election.
Reacting to a query over simmering differences between a section of party MLAs especially Nagamangala MLA N Cheluvaraya Swamy who had favoured another key aspirant V K Jagadish, Kumaraswamy though admitted to the differences, dismissed it as a ‘small difference’ like in other parties which are fighting bigger issues within the organisation.
Kumaraswamy said, “Though there was a delay in announcing candidature of Srikantegowda, the party had told him to make preparations six months advance.” Kumaraswamy said that he will be touring the constituency for two days, besides going on campaign tour in Hubballi and Belagavi.
