Kasargod : Kasargod Police who are conducting a thorough probe into the counterfeit currency racket case, have arrested one more person on Monday, August 27. This is the third arrest in the case. The arrested is Abdul Naser(36) from Anangur Pachakad.
Police have already arrested Kaidakkad Abdul Jabbar and Usma, a resident of Bantwal in connection with the case. The police are on the lookout for Chethan, said to be the driver of Moidin Haji, the kingpin of the racket who hails from Udupi, but is based in Dubai.
Abdul Naser, it is learnt, had got counterfeit notes from Usman. Reports also say that Naser fearing arrest had burnt counterfeit currency worth Rs 7 lakhs as was evident from the burnt paper pieces found in his house. The same has been sent to forensic lab for examination.
Interrogations of the accused has also revealed that the kingpin Moidin Haji had a printing press in Dubai, especially to print counterfeit currency.
It has also been learnt that the fake notes were brought to India through Mangalore and Bangalore airports by hiding the notes in between clothes etc.
