Kasargod: Kasargod police have arrested a man from Udupi in connection with the counterfeit currency circulation racket. The arrested has been identified as Pandit Gopalkrishna.
Reports say he was arrested from his house and was found to be in possession of fake gold billets. Police suspect that the gang in which he was involved might have passed on fake gold billets to many after making them believe that they were real gold billets.
It may be recalled here that police have already arrested Chetan from Udupi and Usman from Bantwal in connection with a cheating wherein gold worth over Rs 1.8 lakh was purchased from a jewellery in Kasargod by paying counterfeit currency. It is learnt, Pandit Gopalkrishna was arrested on the basis of the revelations by the duo.
