Bantwal : A couple named Shivappa Salian (60) and his wife Pushpavathi (55) were stabbed by two persons who gained entry into their house at Kalladka  around 2 am on August 17, Saturday.

 The couple has been rushed to a private hospital in Mangalore. It is not known why they were attacked. The Assailants have not stolen anything from the house.

The couple who were staying in the gulf had returned some time back. They had purchased a commercial complex and were also providing vehicles  on hire. They were also into money lending, it is learnt.

 Finger print experts are at the scene of the crime. SP Abhishek Goel, ASP Shivakumar,Bantwal SI Shekhar visited the house. Investigations are underway.
