Mangalore : A youth and his female cousin who were riding a bike and were heading towards the KSRTC bus stand from Gurupur Kaikamba were attacked by some assailants near Kalpane in Kulshekhar on May 12, Sunday at around 7.40 pm.

According to reports they were waylaid by three persons who seemed drunk and who were riding a bike. They abused the two and even attacked the bike rider. The girl who was  with him was also hurt when she tried to rescue her cousin. It is learnt, they pulled the youth from the bike and  then attacked him before fleeing. The girl said none of the people around came to their rescue.  The girl was studying in Bangalore while the boy was an engineering student in Mangalore.

A complaint has been lodged in Kadri police station.
