The last day of Deepavali is generally kept apart for decorated and well-fed cows, to worship them.
Sharan P. speaking on the occasion, told his listeners that Mother Cow (Go-matha) was inseparable from pure Hindu culture and she was given importance one day in a year, at Deepavali time.
Cow feeds man with milk and its several products. The gods (Devathas) take good care of the cow, whose bodily parts and emissions are considered health-providing, nutritious and long-lasting remedies against diseases. Cows should never be slaughtered, he reminded.
