(Ramesh Rao) Mangalore: Anyone who knows the history of CPI and CPI (M) in India know that these communist parties in 1946 never wanted democracy or ballot boxes, but a dictator like Stalin or Mao. Today Maoism and Violence are alive in India but CPI and CPI (M) are not hate-filled militants, they are having faith in democracy in India, even when next door northern neighbour does not believe in a Chinese democracy, nor Russia trusts a dictatorship, after USSR collapsed way back.
Here in Mangalore today, an open rally organised by CPI (M), more tilting towards China than Russia (CPI), the speakers called for a BJP ouster to save Indian democracy in Karnataka and demanded immediate resignation of CM in Bangalore – Bookanakere Yeddyurappa (70).
The fact is that CM’s best friend over the years from Shivajinagar, Katta Subramanya Naidu has just resigned after Loakyukta hunted him out with an FIR on a dubious land deal involving son K.J. Naidu. It is 3 down in 3 years for CM now.
Among the rally speakers today were G.V Srirama Reddy (former MLA) and B. Madhava.
Reddy stated that in state politics, no legislative session was conducted without furore in 97 sessions handled by BJP led by CM Yeddyurappa so far. The govt, has shown disrespect to the speaker and democracy, without implementing development plans. BJP as a Fascist party and does not believe in democracy which it is demolishing step by step in these few years, Reddy charged. People have no voice, but the legislators keep busy by desecrating democratic systems and institutions, even in the Vidhana Sabha.
B. Madhava accused the ruling BJP of series of scandals in property matters in places of Arkavathi extension and elsewhere in Bangalore to help CM’s relatives, or BJP unit chief’s family or fellow Ministers like K.S Naidu. He demanded the resignation forthwith of CM Yeddyurappa to save Karnataka.
K.R. Shriyan, Vasant Achary, Yadav Shetty, U.B Lokaya, Balakrishna Shetty, all members of DK CPI (M) Executive Committee were present, during the hard – hitting speeches.
