Mangalore : The CPI (M) held a demonstration in front of the DC’s office on November 2, Wednesday protesting against shortage of food, inflation, corruption, expensive fertilizers, and foreign direct investment (FDI), as part of its nationwide campaign.
Addressing the protestors, B. Madhava secretary condemned FDI, stating that it will leave five crore families in India without any source of income.
He also urged the government to fill in vacant posts in government offices to check the rate of unemployment in the country.
He also criticized Montek Singh Ahulwalia, the vice chairman of the planning commission, for his views on poverty.
CPI (M) activists Sunil Kumar Bajal, Vasanth Achar, Vasanth Shetty, Yadav Shetty, and K. R. Shriyan also participated in the protest.
