Kasargod :  In a major development, one of the accused in the CPI(M) activist murder case in Kasargod, surrendered before the court on September 19, Thursday.

The accused is  Prajith (26) of Aryadukkath near Mangad. He surrendered before the Hosadurga Judicial First Class Magistrate Court (II).

Prajith worked in a truck  and the police were searching for him in Karnataka. The court has remanded him to two weeks of judicial custody. Search is on for two other accused.

The CPI(M) worker Balakrishnan was hacked to death near the Government Primary School at Bara, near Mangad on the night of September 6.
