Belthangady: Belthnagady taluk unit of Karnataka regional farmers association and CPI(M) jointly staged protest on Wednesday against revenue officers for cutting down 50rubber trees for public road.
Belthangady taluk revenue officers had cut the rubber trees which were belonged to Kunhanna Gowda. Kunhanna Gowda had filed a complaint against it in police station and a copy of it was sent to revenue officers also. But all the efforts went in vein. Raged by this locals along with CPI(M) staged protest against the revenue officers.
Addressing the gathering farmers association’s Shyam Raj Patrame said that the government’s anti farmers policy is condemnable. It shows the dictatorship of the government.
“Revenue officers have done a wrong job by destructing a farmer’s efforts. If same thing continued in future then we will sharpen our protest,” he warned.
Nebisa, Jayaramaiah, Lokesh, Narayana, Eshwari and others were present.
