Mangalore: A massive rally held in city near DCO on Thursday evening (Jan.16) demanded the arrest of Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, RSS leader for DK for his hate speeches in regard to Deralakatte incident and Udupi Happenings.
National leader of CPIM G V Sriram Reddy, who has taken part in many agitations before in Udupi or Mangalore, was the main speaker of the evening. He condemned the attempts made by both Hindu and Muslim party leaders such as BJP and SDPI with an eye on the coming May 2014 general elections to garner as many votes for their parties as they can in the name of Love Jihad and hate campaigns either ways .
Reddy refer to the Gurpur speech of Dr. KP Bhat and pointed out that such hate-centered communal speeches by responsible persons in public life could create inter communal passions and lead to disorder of public peace on the eve of National elections to the Lok Sabha, and therefore Dr. Bhat should be remanded to judicial custody under the Gundas act before he could do any more damage against minority communities with a loose tongue and irresponsible criticism of his enemies, especially Muslims, at as time when BJP as been rejected to rule after the recent state elections and MCC elections as well.
K R Sriyan, Vasanth Acharya, B M Bhat, Sunil Kumar Bajal, Jayanth Shetty, U B Lokayya, Muneer Katipalla and several other leaders took part in the protest rally and were present among CPI(M) workers.
