Mangalore : The residents of Tannirbhavi under the leadership of CPI(M), staged a protest in front of Mangalore City Corporation Building on NOV 29, Monday demanding to provide door numbers to the residents of Tannirbhavi.
Addressing the protestors, Balakrishna Shetty said that around 300 residents of Tannirbhavi are not given the door number to their houses by the MCC.
The MCC leaders are not understanding the problems of the residents and are planning to vacate the land in order to construct the park. When the authorities are questioned, they reply that the MCC has not got any order to give the door numbers for any of the residents, he said.
CPI(M) leader, Sunil Kumar Bajal, said that today common people are lacking the basic facilities they must get. During the election, the candidates had provided the voters ID to the people in different door numbers, but now they are not responding to the demands of the people and are busy making profits in crores..
He also said that, we went on asking for the door numbers with all the leaders afetr the election, but all the leaders of Congress and BJP have similar agenda. There is lot of differnce of facility provided to the rich and the poor. The BJP leaders who said to help in the matters are sitting inside the office, he added.
There are 300 houses belonging to dalits, mogaveers and minorites and the CPI(M) will further hold violent protest till they get justice, he added.
CPI(M) leaders Lingappa Nathoor, Jayanth B Shetty, B Madhava, District Secretary of CPI(M) and Vasanth Achary, local leader of CPI(M), Tannirbavi residential leaders like Shameema Banu, Baby, John Castelino and others particpated in the protest.
