Mangalore : The Communist Party of India staged a protest in Mangalore opposing the budgetary proposals of the  Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. A protest march was also taken out.

The agitators said the budgetary proposals were anti-people and would lead to a hike in the prices of several essential commodities. They also criticized the failure of the government to address to the needs of the ordinary man and alleged the budget was not prepared with any farsightedness.

Several CPI(M) leaders took part in the protest and later submitted a memorandum to the authorities.
