Mangalore: The CPIM workers staged a rail roko agitation at the Mangalore Railway Station for about 15 minutes on May 31, Thursday to protest against the fuel price hike.
Addressing the agitators, CPM District Secretary B Madhava came down heavily on the UPA government for the petrol price hike and blamed the same for the defective policies of the government. AT the same time he urged the Karnataka government to reduce taxes on petrol.
He also stated that the claims of the oil companies that they were running under losses were false.
Sunil Kumar Bajal, Dayanand Shetty, Balakrishna Shetty and other CPM leaders and a large number of workers took part in the protest.
